Michael E. Goodspeed

Chief Investigator

Chief Investigator Michael Goodspeed has been employed as the Chief Investigator in the Imperial County District Attorney’s Office since 2002. His law enforcement career began in 1980 when he served as a military police officer in the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge, he joined the El Centro Police Department in December 1983. Chief Goodspeed was a police officer in El Centro serving as a patrol officer, motorcycle officer and detective. He left the El Centro Police Department in April 1999 to join the Imperial County District Attorney’s office.

Chief Goodspeed graduated from Imperial High School, in Imperial, California. He obtained his Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Law in 2014. Chief Goodspeed holds Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Supervisory, Management and Executive Certification from The California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training, Chief Goodspeed is a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy and the F.B.I. Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminars.
